About this module
Spa & Wellness lives at /spa and is composed on the same booking model as Scheduling — a treatment is a service, a therapist is a practitioner, a treatment room or thermal suite is a bookable resource, and a booked massage is an appointment. That inheritance is deliberate: it means the double-booking transaction that makes it impossible to put two guests in the same room at the same time, the availability engine, and the practitioner-payout model all come for free. A treatment carries duration and add-on options — 50 or 80 minutes, hot stones, aromatherapy, CBD — that price and time the booking as they are selected, exactly the way a menu item carries modifiers.
The load-bearing idea is the anti-surprise account. When a treatment is completed, its charge posts off-rail to the guest's one closed-loop on-property account — the same account their dinner check and their gift-shop purchase land on — and the guest sees the running total in real time. There is no card swipe at the treatment-room door and no folder of slips to reconcile at the desk. At the end of the stay the account settles once, on the card on file, on a branded surface. A day-spa walk-in who has no on-property account is simply collected by card on that same branded checkout. Value binds to the person, never to a wristband or a cabin number.
Thermal and facility passes are prepaid packages that draw down as they are used, and they reuse the platform's prepaid-package primitive rather than a spa-only ledger — so an unlimited-access pass gates entry to the thermal suite for the length of the sailing, a five-visit facial series decrements one unit per visit, and whatever is unused at debark either refunds or expires per the operator's own terms. A pass is a prepayment for the operator's own services on a single visit: closed-loop, custody held by the property, never Turtini float. Practitioners are gated on their licenses — a treatment that needs a massage or esthetics license can't be booked with someone who lacks it or whose license has lapsed — and their tips and commission flow straight into payroll. Med-spa mode routes clinical intake through the audit-chained Health module and keeps health answers off every guest-facing surface.
