About this module

Membership lives at /membership and builds tiers on the plans you already price and bill, so there is no second catalog to keep in sync. Alongside them you keep an entitlement catalog — your own capability keys like members lounge, early tickets, or the member directory — each with a plain-language label. Map any tier to any set of entitlements, and a member's access becomes the union of every tier they hold.

Access is decided where it cannot be faked. The server resolves whether a signed-in member may reach something from their own identity, so a browser can never claim a tier it does not actually hold. Per-tier member caps with live active counts mean a limited tier sells out cleanly instead of overselling.

Members manage themselves. They join, upgrade, downgrade, cancel, and reactivate on their own, and cancelling is graceful — the benefit stays live through the period they already paid for, rather than cutting off the moment they click.

When a tier grants the member directory, each member's listing auto-publishes to your public directory the moment they join — no page to build. Turn on member editing and members keep their own listing current themselves: title, blurb, and photo. Every new photo passes your image moderation before it goes public, and every save re-proves the listing is genuinely theirs, so convenience never becomes a way to edit someone else's entry.
