About this module
Languages lives at /me/languages, in your personal context. Most language apps start you with a fixed list somebody else wrote, which is why you can order a coffee after three months and still cannot talk about your own work. This one starts from what you already have here: it reads your menu items, your work orders, your recipes and your grocery list, finds the vocabulary living inside them, and proposes it. Nothing is saved until you confirm it, word by word.
Every noun arrives with its article and its gender, because "factura" without "la" is half a Spanish noun and "Rechnung" without "die" is close to useless. Where a language genuinely does not reveal the gender — French elides both to "l'" before a vowel — it says nothing rather than guessing, because a wrong gender is something you then have to unlearn.
Reviews are scheduled by FSRS, a modern spaced-repetition algorithm chosen over the older SM-2 for one reason: SM-2 lets a card you keep failing sink to a floor it never recovers from, so a handful of hard words come to dominate every session forever. And a word you miss comes back before the session ends, not tomorrow — though never more than a few times, because being locked in a loop with one word is the wrong answer to a bad day.
Your vocabulary belongs to you. It lives under your account, not an org's, so it survives changing jobs, and you can delete it whenever you want.
