The digital-banking platform a chartered institution runs for its own customers — with a Fairness Engine that catches a shortfall before it becomes a fee.
Digital-banking software for a chartered institution to run for its own customers. The institution holds the charter, the deposits, and the license; Turtini is the technology vendor. Anchored by the Fairness Engine — a read-only layer that detects recurring flows, forecasts the balance, and warns a customer before an overdraft instead of after it.
What's included
Anticipation engine: detect recurring pay + bills, forecast the balance, warn before an overdraft
Fairness by default: fair posting order, grace windows, fee-avoidance coaching
Online + mobile banking over the institution's existing core (read-only pilot)
The institution holds the charter, the deposits, and the license — Turtini is the software
About this module
Banking is a platform a licensed institution operates, not a bank account Turtini offers. That distinction is the whole design. A chartered bank or credit union holds the charter and the deposits and carries the regulatory obligations; this module is the software they run on top of it. Because of that, activation is not a free opt-in from the directory — the module unlocks only after license verification, and that flag is set server-side. An org cannot switch it on for itself.
The anchor of the first slice is the Fairness Engine, and it is deliberately read-only: it moves no money. It reads the transaction history an institution already has, identifies which debits are recurring and when they land, projects the balance forward across those known commitments, and surfaces a shortfall while there is still time to do something about it. Overdraft fees are the clearest case in consumer finance of a charge that is most likely to hit the people least able to absorb it, and the information needed to prevent it almost always exists days in advance — it simply is not shown to the customer. Showing it is not a feature that needs a business case.
Being read-only in this slice is a design decision, not a limitation to grow out of. A layer that only observes cannot move a customer's money incorrectly, so an institution can put it in front of real accounts without underwriting a new class of risk. Everything the engine produces is an explanation a customer can act on themselves — this is what is coming out, this is what will be left, here is where it goes short — rather than an automated action taken on their behalf.
What you can do with it
A chartered bank or credit union runs its digital-banking front end on Turtini instead of a legacy core vendor's
A customer sees a pre-overdraft shortfall warning days ahead, with the recurring charges that will cause it named
An institution shows account holders a forward balance projection built from detected recurring flows, not just a current balance
A community institution offers a modern digital experience without building the software or the forecasting layer in-house
