Asking Wally to find, summarize, or share a workspace file
Wally can act on the workspace directly so you don't have to hunt for files manually. Four things she can do:
1. Find a file
"Where's the Q4 deck?" / "Find the Acme contract PDF" / "What did I upload last week?" — Wally substring-searches your org's workspace files and returns up to 25 matches with their folder paths, sizes, and uploader names. She only sees files you personally have access to (the ACL is enforced server-side), so the answer respects folder restrictions.
2. Summarize a document
"Summarize the contract PDF in /Legal" / "TL;DR the onboarding doc" — for text-style files (text, markdown, csv, json), Wally fetches the first ~5 KB of the contents and summarizes them inline. For binary files (PDF, images, video), she'll tell you the file type and offer to walk you through opening it.
3. Create a folder
"Make a folder called Vendor W-2s under Finance" — Wally creates the folder and surfaces a Pending Action card so you can confirm with "Do it" before it actually creates. Decline and nothing happens.
4. Mint a public share link
"Share the welcome packet PDF with my CPA" — Wally creates a public share link with a default 30-day expiry. The action card shows the file name, the expiry date, and the link before you commit. After you confirm, copy the URL from Wally's reply.
How to use:
Open Wally from any page (the chat icon in the corner). For find/summarize, you'll get the answer inline. For create-folder/share-link, you'll see the action card; click "Do it" to commit or ignore it to keep things as-is.
What Wally does NOT do:
• Upload files for you — drag-and-drop is faster and Wally has no way to receive a file from you.
• Move or delete files — those are higher-stakes actions; we keep them in the manual UI.
• Search across folders you don't have access to — even as an admin, the tool runs as you, not as the org.
