Performance reviews — quarterly, annual, probation, and 360

Performance reviews capture a periodic look at how someone's doing, with self-assessment, manager response, optional peer feedback, and a two-step sign-off.

Review types:
• Annual — yearly comprehensive review
• Quarterly — short-cycle check-in
• Probation — for new hires nearing end of probationary period
• 360 — multi-source review with peer feedback in addition to self + manager

Starting a review:
1. Workforce → Reviews → Performance Reviews pill → + New Review
2. Pick the worker and review type (the worker's manager is looked up from the org chart as the reviewer)
3. Set the period start and end dates
4. (Optional) Link existing Smart Goals — their progress appears inline in the review
5. For 360 reviews, select peer reviewers from the team — each gets prompted to fill in their feedback
6. Save — the worker is notified that their self-assessment is requested

The review flow (status moves through these stages):
1. Draft — manager is preparing the review
2. Awaiting self — worker writes their self-assessment
3. Awaiting peers — (360 only) peer reviewers submit feedback. Names are hidden from the worker by default; only the manager sees attribution. Once every assigned peer has submitted, the review advances to Awaiting manager automatically
4. Awaiting manager — manager writes their response and (optionally) gives a 1–5 rating. Orgs can run a narrative-only model and skip the number
5. Awaiting sign-off — both parties click "Sign as worker" / "Sign as manager"
6. Finalized — review is read-only once both signatures are stamped; a permanent record

Key principles:
• Self-assessment is written by the worker; the manager response is written by the worker's manager (or an org admin)
• Peer feedback can only be filled by the assigned peer
• Once finalized, fields are locked — delete and re-create if you need to revise

Download a signed PDF:
At any stage, "Download PDF" generates a Verified-by-Turtini PDF of the review — the exact text, both parties' sign-off, stamped with a QR code + SHA-256 hash. Use it for compliance audits, employee files, or HRIS upload.

Tip: Wally can summarize the full state of any review — self + peer + linked goals — into a briefing the manager can paste into their assessment field.
