Performance reviews and 1-on-1 logs

Workforce includes a lightweight performance system — 1-on-1 logs and review cycles — that connects employee goals, manager feedback, and recognition into one place.

1-on-1 logs:
Each employee has a perfOneOnOnes subcollection where their direct manager logs:
• Date and length
• Talking points (manager + employee both contribute before the meeting)
• Outcomes / commitments
• Sentiment (manager's read on engagement)

Both parties see the log. The employee can prep talking points before the meeting; the manager can review the previous log on the way in. After the meeting, commitments roll into the employee's task list automatically if you toggle "make this a task" when adding a row.

Review cycles:
For formal performance review periods (quarterly, semi-annual, annual), open Workforce → Performance → Cycles. The platform supports:
• Self-review — employee writes their own assessment of the period
• Manager review — manager writes their assessment, with talking points pulled from the 1-on-1 log
• Peer review (optional) — employee picks 2-4 peers; each writes a short assessment
• Calibration — managers compare their reviews across teams to normalize ratings

Goal tracking:
Each employee can set goals (SMART or OKR-shaped) at the start of a cycle. Mid-cycle check-ins flag goals at risk of slipping. End-of-cycle review pulls goal completion into the assessment automatically.

Recognition + perf — closer than they look:
The org-wide Activity Feed already surfaces peer-to-peer recognition ("kudos to X for closing the deal"). When a review cycle opens, those recognitions auto-populate as evidence in the employee's self-review and the manager's draft. No copy-paste.

Privacy:
1-on-1 logs are visible only to the employee, their manager, and HR (org admins with the HR role). Review-cycle drafts are private until submitted; final reviews are visible to the employee + their management chain.
