Automatic time tracking

Turtini can automatically clock employees in and out based on their presence in the app — no manual action required.

How it works:
• When you sign in and become active in Turtini, the system detects you as "online"
• If you are enrolled as an active hourly employee with auto-tracking enabled, a time entry is opened automatically
• When you close the app or your session goes offline, the open entry is closed and your duration and wages are calculated

The header clock icon:
• A clock icon appears in the header next to the notifications bell
• The icon turns green when you are currently clocked in
• Click the clock icon to see your elapsed time and manage your session

From the clock dropdown you can:
• Clock Out manually at any time
• Toggle "Record time automatically" — turning this off opts you out of presence-based tracking for future sessions

Auto-tracking rules:
• Only applies to workers with type: Employee and status: Active
• Volunteers and inactive workers are never auto-tracked
• If you are already clocked in manually, auto-tracking will not create a duplicate entry
• Each device/session only manages its own clock-in — if you log in on two devices, each session tracks independently without duplication

Opting out:
• Open the clock dropdown in the header → toggle off "Record time automatically"
• Your preference is saved to your worker profile and persists across sessions
• You can always clock in and out manually from Workforce → Time regardless of this setting
