Work credentials — certifications and licenses
Work Credentials tracks the certifications, licenses, and training that workers must hold to do their jobs — CPR cards, OSHA cards, security clearances, professional licenses, vendor certs. The platform tracks expiration dates, sends renewal reminders, and blocks assignments to uncredentialled workers when configured.
To add a credential type (org admin):
1. Workforce → Compliance → Credential Types → + New
2. Name (e.g. "CPR Certification")
3. Issuing body (e.g. "American Red Cross")
4. Validity period (months) — default expiration window
5. Required for — optional list of role types or job categories
6. Renewal reminder window — how many days before expiry to alert the worker
To attach a credential to a worker:
1. Workforce → People → click worker → Credentials tab → + Add credential
2. Pick the credential type
3. Issue date and expiration date (auto-filled from validity period)
4. Upload a copy of the certificate (PDF or image)
5. Save — the credential appears on the worker's profile with status (Active / Expiring / Expired)
Expiration alerts:
• Workers with credentials within their renewal window receive an email reminder
• Org admins see an "Expiring Credentials" widget on the Workforce dashboard
• Expired credentials are flagged on the worker's profile in red until renewed or archived
Blocking on expiration:
For credentials marked "Required for [role]", the platform blocks scheduling that worker for shifts requiring that role if their credential is expired. Workforce → Compliance → Settings has the toggle.
Bulk import:
If you're migrating from another tracking system, Workforce → Compliance → Import lets you upload a CSV with worker email, credential type, issue date, expiration. The system matches workers by email and creates the credential records.
Audit log:
Every credential add/update/expire is logged for compliance audits.
