Submitting and approving PTO requests
Workers can submit PTO requests that admins then approve or deny. PTO must be enabled in Workforce Settings.
Submitting a request (as a worker):
1. Workforce → Time → PTO tab → + Request Time Off
2. Select the PTO policy (Vacation, Sick, etc.)
3. Enter the start date, end date, and number of hours
4. Add optional notes
5. Submit — the request is created with a Pending status
Reviewing requests (as an admin):
1. Workforce → Time → PTO tab — pending requests are shown at the top
2. Click a request to see the details
3. Click Approve or Deny
4. The status updates immediately; the worker can see the decision in their PTO view
PTO request statuses:
• Pending — submitted, awaiting admin review
• Approved — admin has approved; hours are deducted from the worker's balance
• Denied — admin has declined; balance is unchanged
Note: PTO requests do not automatically create time entries. If you track PTO hours in the time log, add a manual time entry for the approved period.
