Researching with Wally
Wally answers questions on any topic, not only questions about Turtini or your organization. Ask what is eaten in Portugal, how a heat pump works, or when to visit Kyoto, and Wally answers.
**When Wally searches the web**
When an answer depends on current or specific facts — today's news, opening hours, prices, a local detail — or when you ask it to look something up, Wally searches the web with the same search Find uses. It reads the one to three most useful pages, searches again if something is missing, then answers.
While it works, the panel shows what it is doing ("Searching the web for ...", "Reading ...").
**How citations work**
Wally marks what it took from a page with that page's number, like [2]. The number is a link to that page, and the Sources list under the answer names every page cited, in order. Wally only uses numbers that came from pages it actually found; a number that points at nothing is removed before you see the answer. If Wally read pages but cited none of them, the list shows the pages it read.
Wally can be wrong, and so can the pages it reads. Open the source for anything that matters.
**Health, legal, tax and money questions**
Wally gives clear general information. For your own situation, a qualified professional is the right person to advise you, and Wally will say so.
**Web pages cannot change your data**
A web page is text from the open internet, and some pages contain instructions aimed at AI assistants. Wally treats everything it reads as information, never as instructions. In a message where Wally has read web content, it cannot propose any change to your Turtini data at all — not even one you would confirm. If you asked for a change as part of a research question, Wally gives the answer and asks you to confirm the change in a new message; the usual preview card follows from there.
Wally only opens pages that came from its own search results, an earlier answer's sources, a Find search you handed over, or a link you typed. A page cannot send it anywhere else.
**Privacy**
Searches go through the same search Find runs and leave no more record than a Find search does: Turtini does not log what Wally searched for. Conversations are saved to your Wally history as usual. A search you hand over from a private Find search opens a private Wally session instead, which is never saved (see "Go further with Wally from Find").
**Limits**
Each message can run a few searches and read a few pages. There is also a daily research allowance; if you reach it, Wally says so in plain words, keeps answering from what it knows, and research is available again the next day. Signed-out visitors have a smaller allowance.
**What it costs**
Research is part of Wally, not a separate product. Its model use is metered like any other Wally message: in an organization, on the org's usage at the published +15%; in your Personal space, on your own usage record.
