Turning on Voice Reception
Voice Reception answers your phone and books appointments. A caller says what they need in their own words -- there is no menu and nothing to press.
To turn it on: an org admin enables Voice Reception in Settings -> Modules, then opens Communications -> Voice Reception.
Two settings decide how it behaves:
- Transfer calls to. The number a caller reaches when they ask for a person. Leave it empty and the line takes a name and number instead. Either way the call does not end with the caller stuck.
- What it can book. One service per line, in your own words ("Oil Change", "State Inspection"). Someone who asks for something not on this list is handed to a person rather than guessed at.
It offers times from the booking profile your website already publishes, so the phone and the web share one calendar and cannot double-book each other. If you have not published a booking profile yet, set that up first -- Voice Reception has nothing to offer without it.
What it will never do, by construction rather than by configuration: read a menu, ask anyone to press a number, tell a caller to hang up and dial a different number, or end a call with the caller's need unmet.
