Designing a layout on a venue floor plan
Once you've attached a venue to your event, the Layout tab inside that event loads the venue's canonical floor plan as the background. You drop overlays (tables, booths, AV, dance floor, registration desks) on top to build your seating chart or trade-show floor.
The toolbar lets you place:
• Round tables (with seat count) — drag from the palette into a room
• Rectangular tables — for head tables, banquet sections
• Cocktail tables — for receptions
• Chair rows — for theater-style auditorium setups
• Trade-show booths — 10×10, 10×20, 20×20
• AV rigs, bar stations, food stations, registration desks
• Free-form notes pinned to a room
Layout features:
• Drag-to-place with snap-to-grid (1 ft increments) and snap-to-room-edge
• Capacity calculator in the side panel — shows guests-per-square-foot live as you drop tables
• Multi-floor support — switch floors via the dropdown above the canvas
• "Save as template" lets you reuse this exact arrangement on a future event at the same venue
If the venue updates their floor plan after you've placed overlays, the editor shows a "Layout updated — review changes" banner. Your overlays stay anchored to their original rooms; if a room was deleted you'll see a flag and can re-place those overlays in a new room.
