TurtiniOS licensing and entitlement

The Licensing tab explains how TurtiniOS appliances are licensed. There are two segments, and which one applies depends on your deployment posture.

Connected — metered:
• Appliances that can reach Turtini report their usage and are billed on a metered basis.
• This is the same at-cost hosting model as the rest of the platform — no per-seat licensing and no lock-in. You pay for what the fleet actually uses.

Gov / disconnected — subscription:
• Air-gapped and government deployments run on a subscription instead of metering, because a disconnected appliance can't phone home to report usage.
• Entitlement travels with the device and is verified locally.

Verified by Turtini — offline-verifiable:
• Each appliance carries a "Verified by Turtini" verifiable credential that proves its entitlement.
• The credential is cryptographically signed and verifies fully offline — an air-gapped device can prove it is licensed without ever contacting Turtini.
• That offline verification is exactly what makes the disconnected segment possible.

Note on what's live today: the Licensing tab is informational. Per-org segment derivation and entitlement issuance are wired once the TurtiniOS licensing backend ships. The segment shown for your org is a placeholder until then — the tab explains the model so you know how licensing will work for your deployment.
