Approving that a child’s profile can be shared
The talent network lets organizations other than a player's own team see their profile. For a player under 13, that needs a parent or guardian to approve it first. Everything else in Sports works normally without this — only sharing outside the organization is affected.
**Step one is the relationship.** You cannot give this approval until we have confirmed you are the young person's parent or guardian. See "Telling us you are a young person's parent or guardian" first.
How to give the approval:
1. On **/me/athlete**, find **Parental approval**.
2. Choose **Give approval**.
3. Pick how you are confirming you are the parent or guardian.
4. Attach a link to the completed form or record.
5. Choose **Submit for review**.
**Why a confirmation email is not offered here.** An email to the parent plus a confirming step is a real method, but the law that applies (16 CFR 312.5(b)(2)) allows it only where the child's information stays inside the organization. The talent network shares it outside, so a stronger method is required. Rather than let you choose something that would be refused, we do not offer it on this screen.
**Submitted is not approved.** After you submit, it shows as **Submitted, waiting to be checked**. Someone at Turtini opens the evidence. Nothing is shared until they have. The person who checks is never the person who submitted — that is what makes "verified" mean more than "asserted".
**Withdrawing.** Choose **Withdraw approval** at any time. The player is removed from the talent network straight away and other organizations stop being able to see the profile.
**If the date of birth is missing.** We cannot tell whether approval is required, so sharing is refused until a date of birth is on file. An unknown age is treated as a young age, not an adult one.
