Reviewing parental approvals (platform admin)

**/admin/parental-approvals** is where the two checks that protect under-13s actually happen. Both are on this page, and they are in order.

**Relationships** — an adult has claimed to be a young person's parent or guardian. Open the evidence they attached and satisfy yourself it names this adult as this child's parent or guardian. Choosing **Confirm relationship** is what allows them to give approvals for that child, so this is the answer that matters most.

**Approvals** — look up the young person's account and review the approval a confirmed guardian has submitted. Open the evidence, then **Mark verified**. Only then can the profile be shared with other organizations.

Two things the system enforces and you cannot override:
• You cannot confirm a relationship you claimed yourself, and you cannot verify an approval you submitted yourself. One party supplies, a different party checks.
• A young person can never be recorded as their own parent or guardian.

If the age band reads anything other than **under-13**, no parental approval is required and there is nothing for you to do.
