Running your spa — treatments, booking, and posting charges
Spa & Wellness (/spa) runs a resort spa, day spa, med spa, or salon. Turn the module on from the directory, then open /spa and click "Create spa" to set it up.
The four things you set up first:
• Treatments (the menu) — each treatment has a base price and duration, the room type it needs, and optional add-on choices (50 vs 80 minutes, hot stones, aromatherapy, CBD) that adjust the price and the length when the guest picks them, exactly like a food menu with modifiers. If a treatment legally needs a licensed provider, set its License required field.
• Practitioners — your therapists and estheticians. Record each one's license type, number, and expiry, and their compensation (employee wage, commission, or 1099 booth-renter). A treatment that requires a license can never be booked with a practitioner who lacks it or whose license has expired — the check happens the moment you book.
• Rooms & Resources — treatment rooms, couples suites, and thermal suites. A thermal suite or relaxation lounge holds many guests at once, so give it a capacity above 1. Single rooms stay at 1. Double-booking is impossible: the booking step checks both the practitioner and the room.
• Settings — your auto-gratuity percentage and whether you run in med-spa mode.
Booking and completing a treatment:
1. On the Appointments tab, click "+ Book treatment". Pick the treatment, the practitioner, the room, the start time, and — importantly — the guest. Picking a guest is what binds the charge to their on-property account.
2. When the treatment is done, click Complete. The charge posts to the guest's account immediately, off-rail, and the guest sees it on their running total right away. There is no card swipe at the door and no paper chit. Everything settles once, at the end of the stay.
3. If the guest has no on-property account (a day-spa walk-in), Complete offers a branded card checkout instead — collect it right there.
Gratuity: add a tip amount in the small box before you click Complete, or let auto-gratuity apply automatically from your Settings percentage. Either way it posts as its own line on the guest account and flows to the practitioner's payout.
