Retail analytics: sell-through, margin, and GMROI
The Analytics tab turns your orders and inventory into the merchandising numbers Retail Pro users expect. Pick a period (7, 30, or 90 days) at the top and everything recalculates.
What you get:
• Revenue and order count for the period
• Gross margin and GMROI — these need unit costs, so set a "Unit Cost" on your products (Retail → Products) to light them up. GMROI is gross margin divided by inventory at cost — your return on every dollar of stock
• Inventory at cost — the current value of on-hand stock
• Sell-through by category — units sold divided by (units sold + on-hand), the share of available stock that actually moved
• Sales by associate with accrued commission
• Sales by hour of day — find your busy windows for staffing
• Sales by payment method
The single most valuable setup step is entering unit costs on your products — without them, revenue and sell-through still work, but margin and GMROI can't be computed.
You can also ask Wally for the sell-through summary to get the headline numbers without opening the tab.
