Paid orders that are still being cooked

An order can be paid for long before the food is made. A counter or food-truck guest pays when they order; a pickup, delivery or curbside guest pays online the moment they place the order. Those tickets stay on the Kitchen board until somebody hands the food over.

What you see on the board:
A prepaid ticket looks like every other ticket and sits in the same lane it was in -- New Tickets, In Progress, or Ready / Expo -- with a green "Paid" mark under the order number. That mark is there so whoever is at the pass does not send a check out with food that is already settled.

How it leaves the board:
The same way every other ticket does. Bump the items as they are plated, then press the button on the card -- Start Cooking, Mark Ready, Mark Delivered. The card comes off the board at Mark Delivered, which is the moment the food is handed over, not the moment the card cleared.

In the Orders tab:
A prepaid order shows two badges: "Paid" for the money and its kitchen lane beside it. Advance is available there too, so you can move it on from either screen.

Dine-in is different, and deliberately so:
At a table, the guest eats and then pays, so the payment IS the end of the check. A dine-in check leaves the board when it is settled, exactly as it always has. Nothing about the floor plan, the table statuses or the end-of-meal checkout changed.

If a prepaid ticket needs re-firing:
Open it from the Orders tab and press Recall on the item, or use Advance to move it back into the lane you need. A paid check can still be worked on -- paying for food does not mean it has been cooked.
