Inventory forecasting
The Forecast sub-tab under Inventory shows a 7-day projected needs analysis.
How forecasting works:
Turtini calculates projected daily covers (guests served) by combining:
1. Historical order data — average covers for the same day of week over the past 30 days
2. Upcoming reservations — confirmed reservation covers for each day
3. Staff factor — shifts scheduled relative to your average shift count (more staff = higher volume projected)
For each inventory item with a usage per cover set, Turtini multiplies the projected covers by the usage rate to show how much of each item you'll need.
Reorder suggestions:
Items that would fall below par level given the forecast appear in the Reorder Suggestions list with the recommended order quantity. You can click "Create Order" directly from a suggestion to start a supplier order.
Keeping forecasts accurate:
• Set realistic usage per cover values on each inventory item
• Keep your reservations up to date
• Make sure shift scheduling reflects actual expected staffing
