Alcohol items and ID verification
Turtini supports a per-item alcohol flag that enforces an ID verification step before any alcoholic order can be sent to the kitchen.
Marking a menu item as alcoholic:
1. Go to the Menu tab and edit any item
2. Check "Contains alcohol (ID check required)"
3. Save — the item now shows a "21+" amber badge in the add-items panel
How ID verification works:
When a server adds one or more alcoholic items to a cart, an amber banner appears in the bottom action area:
"Tap to confirm ID was checked"
The server must tap this banner to confirm they verified the guest's ID. The banner turns green ("ID verified — order contains alcohol") once confirmed. The "Send to Kitchen" button remains disabled until the confirmation is tapped.
The ID confirmation resets automatically after each order is sent, so every round requires a fresh confirmation.
This flow is designed to give your staff a clear, physical tap-to-confirm action that creates a moment of deliberate verification — rather than relying on memory.
