Import a reserve study

Importing your reserve study loads every component your association will eventually repair or replace — roofs, pavement, elevators, pool equipment, siding — so the platform can calculate what you actually need to set aside each year. You bring the study you already paid for; Turtini reads it into structured reserve components you can plan against.

To import a reserve study:
1. Go to Accounting and open the Import Books tab (/accounting?tab=onboarding).
2. Choose "Reserve study" as the document type and upload the file. PDF, CSV, and XLSX are all accepted.
3. The importer parses the study into reserve components. For each component it pulls the name, category, placed-in-service year, useful life, remaining life, current replacement cost, future replacement cost, quantity/unit, and current funding percentage.
4. Review the column-mapping and preview step. Every parsed column is shown next to the field it mapped to — correct any mapping the parser got wrong, and check the component rows in the preview.
5. Click Confirm to save the components.

What to check in the preview:
• Useful life and remaining life are the two numbers that drive every later calculation — make sure they read across correctly for each row.
• Replacement costs should match the study's figures. If your study lists only current cost, the future cost is projected forward; you can adjust it.
• Components with no remaining life are treated as due now — confirm that is intended before saving.

The import is non-destructive: re-importing an updated study lets you review changes before they replace the saved components. Once saved, the components feed the Reserves surface and the funding calculations described in the related articles.
