Record the tax registrations your certificates are prepared from

A resale certificate is signed under penalty of perjury, and the most load-bearing thing on it is a registration number. Turtini keeps the registrations your organization holds so a certificate is never filled in from memory with a permit that lapsed last quarter.

To record a registration:
1. Open Resale (/resale) and go to the Tax Certificates tab.
2. Switch to the Registrations panel.
3. Press "Add a registration".
4. Fill in the jurisdiction, the registration type (sales and use, reseller permit, or a Streamlined Sales Tax id), the number exactly as the authority issued it, the issuing authority as printed on your certificate of registration, and the date it took effect. Leave "Expires" blank if it does not expire.
5. Press "Save registration".

Each registration on file shows where it stands today: in effect, not yet in effect, expired, or incomplete. Only a registration in effect on the day of the sale is ever presented on a certificate — an expired one is set aside with the reason, so a blocked draft tells you "your Washington permit expired on 2026-03-31" rather than "no registration found".

Registrations are saved by Turtini's Resale service and never written directly from your browser, and you need editor access to the organization to change one. Removing a registration does not affect certificates you have already downloaded.
