Reef — collaborative pods
Reef gives your org cross-functional pods — durable workspaces oriented around a topic, initiative, or working group rather than a specific project. Each pod has its own chat, shared docs, shared task list, and member roster.
To create a pod:
1. /reef → + New pod → name, optional description, optional cover image
2. Invite members (org members + optional external collaborators by email)
3. The pod home shows recent activity, pinned docs, and a chat sidebar
What pods are good for:
- Long-running initiatives (Q1 product launch, Federal compliance roadmap)
- Cross-functional teams (Sales + CS + Engineering on a top-10 account)
- Communities of practice (DEI council, security working group)
Pods vs Projects:
Projects (in Planning) are time-boxed deliverables with start/end dates + tasks + Gantt structure. Pods are open-ended collaboration spaces — use a pod when the work isn't a discrete project with a fixed end.
