Giving your entry to someone else
If you cannot run, you can hand your entry to someone else — when the race allows it, and before its transfer deadline.
How to do it:
1. Open the race from **Races** or from your own entries.
2. Choose **Transfer entry** and name the person taking it.
3. They are asked to accept the race's waiver before the entry is theirs to run.
**They have to sign the waiver themselves.** This is the part that is easy to miss. The waiver you accepted covers you, and you are not the one running — so the transfer clears it and the new runner accepts the current one. Until they do, the entry is not a valid start, and the race-day desk will say so.
**The bib number stays the same.** It is already printed, the timing company already has it, and reissuing it would mean reprinting.
**Things that stop a transfer.** The race may not allow them at all; the deadline may have passed (usually a few days out, when the start list goes to the timing company); or the person you are transferring to may already be entered — one runner cannot hold two bibs, because the results could not be untangled afterwards.
