Setting entry prices that change over time

Entry prices can change on a schedule — early-bird, standard, late — and you can add a flash sale or a price for the first so-many entries on top.

How to set it up:
1. Open the race and choose a distance.
2. Add a price step for each period, with the date each one ends.
3. Optionally add a flash sale with its own start and end.

**Dates are in the race's own timezone.** "Early-bird ends June 1" means midnight where the race is, not where your laptop is and not UTC.

**Mind the gaps.** If one step ends on the Friday and the next begins on the Monday, nothing is on sale over that weekend — entries are refused rather than quietly sold at the earlier price. That is deliberate: a wrong price is not noticed until the refunds. Make the dates meet.

**If two prices are in force at once**, the entrant is charged the lower one, unless one of them is a flash sale — a flash sale wins, which is what makes it a flash sale.

**Capacity is checked before price.** A distance that is full says so, rather than quoting a number and refusing at checkout.
