Building quotes (CPQ)
Quotes are formal pricing proposals tied to an opportunity. Each quote has line items (products from your catalog + ad-hoc line items), optional discounts, optional taxes, and a customer-facing PDF.
To create a quote:
1. From an opportunity → "+ Quote" (or /quotes → + New)
2. Add line items from your product catalog or create custom items inline. Set quantities, unit prices, discounts per line
3. Optional: apply a header-level discount (% or $) or a discount code
4. Save — the quote gets a unique number and a customer-facing URL
Sending to a customer:
Click "Send" → choose email template, recipient, subject. The customer receives a link to view the quote, accept it inline, or request changes. Accepted quotes can auto-create an invoice (toggle on the quote).
Versioning:
Edit a sent quote → "Save as new version" — keeps the prior version visible to the customer until they accept the new one. All versions are part of the opportunity timeline.
