Federal fields: NAICS, PSC and set-asides

A solicitation carries the classification fields federal buyers and resellers work in:

• **NAICS** - the industry code for the work.
• **PSC** - the product or service code.
• **Set-aside** - 8(a), SDVOSB, WOSB, HUBZone, or small business, when competition is restricted to a category.

These are recorded on the solicitation and carried onto the award, so the basis for a restricted competition is part of the record rather than something reconstructed later.

Leave set-aside as "None" for open competition.
