Phases, tasks, and the timeline (Gantt) view

Phases group related tasks into chunks of the project ("Design", "Permitting", "Foundation", "Build", "Punchlist"). Tasks are the actual to-dos — each one has a start, end, status, % complete, and optional dependencies on other tasks.

Adding phases:
• Open the Timeline tab and click + Add Phase
• Each phase has a sub-budget that rolls up against the project total

Adding tasks:
• Use the + button on any phase row in the Timeline, or
• Use the Tasks tab (which has a structured form for phase, dates, milestone flag)

Working with the Gantt:
• Each phase shows as a thick bar; tasks under it as thinner bars beneath
• Drag the body of a bar to slide it forward or back in time
• Drag either edge to resize (changes the start or end date)
• Milestones render as a diamond marker (zero-duration)

Dependencies (finish-to-start) are tracked on each task — when task B depends on task A, A must finish before B starts. v1 lets you set dependencies but does not auto-shift dependent tasks; v2 will add the scheduling engine (critical path, baselines, resource leveling).

Wally can do this too: "Add a Permitting phase from May 1 to June 15" or "Mark the Foundation Pour task as done" — both come back as confirm-first action cards.
