Drafting the intro email to a permit authority
The hardest part of a permit is often just the first email. On any permit row, tap "Draft intro email" and we write a polite, specific first message to that office — pre-filled with your organization, the event details we know, and the permit you're asking about.
The draft asks the authority for their application form, the documents they'll need from you, and how far ahead to apply — it asks for their requirements rather than assuming them, which keeps the conversation easy and accurate.
From the draft you can:
• Copy it to paste anywhere.
• Open it in your mail app (when we have the office's email).
• Visit the authority's official site to confirm the current contact first.
You can also ask Wally to write or tailor it in chat — "draft an email to Virginia ABC about our festival alcohol license" — and Wally will produce the same kind of draft.
Before sending, confirm the office's current contact details on their official site. We flag contacts as needing confirmation until our annual review verifies them.
