What is TurtiniOS?
TurtiniOS is a purpose-built operating system that runs Turtini on your own hardware — a server, a laptop, or a small edge box — online or completely offline.
What makes it different:
• Immutable and self-updating. The whole OS is shipped as a single image and updates atomically, like a Chromebook. If an update boots badly, it automatically rolls back to the last known-good version, so a bad update can't strand a machine.
• Sovereign. Everything Turtini needs to run — the app, its data layer, the services — is on the box. There's no dependency on Google or any cloud. On a disconnected network it keeps working exactly the same; when a link is available it can sync.
• Self-organizing. TurtiniOS machines discover each other on a network, verify each other's identity, and pool into one fleet you manage from Turtini — including running virtual machines on each other (the Cloud module).
• Runs anywhere. The same image adapts to the hardware it lands on, taking on a server, workstation, or edge role automatically.
Who it's for:
Organizations that need to run their operations on infrastructure they own and control — governments, regulated industries, and anyone operating on disconnected or air-gapped networks — as well as anyone who simply wants a private, self-hosted Turtini.
You manage TurtiniOS machines and the VMs they run from the Cloud module at /cloud.
