Motor Pool — road vehicles and daily driver inspections

Motor Pool is commercial road-vehicle fleet management — cars, vans, and trucks — with the driver's daily inspection built in. It is for delivery fleets, trades, shuttle and transport operators, and any business that puts drivers behind the wheel. It is distinct from the marine Fleet module, which manages vessels.

The vehicle registry:

Every vehicle is registered with its status, current odometer, and assigned driver, so you always know what you have, where it stands, and who is responsible for it.

Driver DVIR on their phone:

Drivers complete a pre-trip and post-trip Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) right on their phone — the FMCSA section 396.11 inspection. The check is designed to be done fast at the start and end of a shift, from the cab, without paperwork.

Defects auto-park unsafe vehicles:

When a driver flags a defect on an inspection, Motor Pool automatically parks that vehicle — it comes out of service and can't be dispatched until a mechanic certifies the repair. That is the safety loop the regulation exists for: a reported defect can't be quietly ignored, because the vehicle itself is held until the repair is signed off.

Why it matters:

The point is a clean, defensible inspection trail. Every pre- and post-trip check is on the record, every reported defect has a certified repair before the vehicle rolls again, and you can show exactly that if anyone ever asks.
