Move your data off Salesforce into Turtini
Turtini imports the core Salesforce objects from the CSV exports Salesforce already gives you. You do not need admin API access, a connected app, or the Salesforce connector -- this is the path OFF Salesforce, and it works from the export alone.
WHAT COMES OVER
• Account -> Turtini accounts (name, website, description, billing and shipping address)
• Contact -> Turtini contacts (name, email, phone, title, department, and the account they belong to)
• Lead -> Turtini contacts, tagged "salesforce-lead" plus their Salesforce lead status. Turtini has no separate Lead record; a lead is a person you have not qualified yet, so they land with your other people rather than in a holding pen you would have to check separately.
• Opportunity -> Turtini opportunities (name, stage, amount, close date, next step, and the account they belong to). Salesforce stages map onto Turtini's six: Prospecting and Qualification become Qualify, Needs Analysis and Value Proposition become Meet & Present, Proposal/Price Quote becomes Propose, Negotiation/Review becomes Negotiate, and anything containing "won" or "lost" closes accordingly.
• Product2 -> Retail products, if the Retail module is on and you have a store. Salesforce keeps prices on PricebookEntry rather than on the product, so these arrive at $0 -- set your prices in Retail afterwards.
• User -> nobody. Salesforce users are matched by email to people already on your Turtini team so record ownership carries over. Turtini never creates a login from a spreadsheet. Anyone missing is listed in the preview so you can invite them from Settings, Team.
GETTING THE EXPORT OUT OF SALESFORCE
1. In Salesforce, open Setup and search for "Data Export". (If you use Data Loader, exporting each object as CSV works identically.)
2. Choose the objects you want: Account, Contact, Lead, Opportunity, Product2, User.
3. Salesforce emails you a .zip when it is ready. Unzip it -- each object is its own CSV inside. Upload the CSVs, not the zip.
4. Go to /setup/migrate, find Salesforce, and drop each CSV into its matching box. Upload only the objects you actually want.
You can import in stages. Bringing accounts and contacts over this week and opportunities next week is fine, and so is re-uploading the same file after fixing something in Salesforce -- see "Importing the same export twice" below.
PREVIEW BEFORE YOU IMPORT
The Import button stays disabled until you have run Preview import. That is deliberate: this is the one screen where "I did not know it would do that" is expensive. The preview shows, per object, how many records will be created, how many will merge into records already here, and every row that will be skipped or cannot be mapped, with the reason. Nothing is written while you read it.
If you uploaded the wrong file into a box, the preview says so by name -- it checks that a Contacts export actually has the columns a Contact has, rather than importing several thousand empty records.
