Pricing estimates in the Sizing Calculator

The Sizing Calculator includes a live pricing estimate section that breaks down annual infrastructure and IBM MAS license costs based on your inputs.

Pricing Rates input card (left panel, below Worker Node Shape):
All rates are editable — replace the defaults with your actual or negotiated rates at any time.

Infrastructure rates:
• Bare Metal / Air-Gapped: Server $/node/yr (default: $6,000, based on ~$30K/node amortized over 5 years), ONTAP $/TiB/month usable (default: $80, hardware + support amortized 5yr), OCP Premium $/core/yr (default: $1,499 Red Hat list price)
• VMware: Compute shows $0 (assumes existing VMware estate), same ONTAP and OCP rates
• AWS FSx: EC2 $/vCPU/yr (default: $272, m6i.4xlarge 1yr reserved), FSx ONTAP SSD $/GB/month (default: $0.138), ROSA $/core/yr (default: $374)

IBM MAS AppPoints (MSRP):
Defaults are IBM Passport Advantage MSRP list prices. Only rates for enabled applications are shown.
• AppPoint price $/yr — $160 MSRP
• Manage: 3 AppPoints per authorized user
• Monitor: 18 AppPoints per 1,000 IoPoints/month
• Health: 0.02 AppPoints per asset/yr
• Predict: 40 AppPoints base (includes CP4D)
• Visual Inspection: 30 AppPoints per deployment
• Assist: 20 AppPoints base

Annual Cost Estimate card (right panel):
Shows a breakdown of infrastructure costs (compute, storage, platform) and IBM MAS license cost (AppPoints × price), with the formula shown inline so every number is auditable. The grand total combines both.

Important: all figures are estimates only — not a formal quote. IBM AppPoint pricing is MSRP list price and varies significantly by volume tier and negotiated agreement. Request formal quotes from IBM, Red Hat, NetApp, and your hardware vendor before procurement.
