Room service — placing orders that post to the folio
Room service lets you take an in-room dining order against a reservation and route it to your kitchen, with the charge posting to the guest's folio.
How it connects to F&B:
Room-service orders reuse your restaurant menu — an in-room order is a restaurant order on the "room-service" channel. That means one menu, one kitchen ticket flow, and inventory depletion working exactly as it does for a dine-in check.
Placing an order:
1. Open the reservation and go to Guest Services → Room Service
2. Choose items from the menu and set quantities
3. Set the room to deliver to
4. Place the order — it goes to the kitchen and starts the fulfillment flow
Tracking delivery:
A room-service order moves through placed, preparing, en-route, and delivered so front desk and kitchen can see where every order stands.
Posting to the folio:
The order total posts to the guest's folio as a room charge, so in-room dining lands on the same bill as the room and every other in-property purchase — no separate tab to reconcile at checkout.
Have Wally do it:
Ask Wally to place a room-service order for a reservation and it builds the order from your menu, then offers a card to send it to the kitchen — you confirm before it fires.
