Where chats show up — and chatting before sign-in

A live chat thread isn't a throwaway — it's saved and attached to the right people on both sides.

Anonymous visitors:
• Someone can start chatting without an account; they get a temporary session ID so the conversation works immediately.
• If they sign in or create an account mid-conversation, every anonymous message is claimed and linked to their Contact record automatically — nothing is lost in the handoff.

Where conversations live afterward:
• /chats — your org's global inbox of every conversation.
• Contact detail → Chats tab — the full conversation history for that specific person, right alongside their other CRM activity.
• Customer Portal → Chats — each customer can see their own chat history when they sign in to your portal.

The result: a question a customer asked in chat months ago is still there on their Contact when your team needs the context, and the customer can find it too.
