Pausing your organization (without cancelling)
Pause is a soft state for orgs that are temporarily idle but not closing — seasonal businesses in their off-season, founders on sabbatical, programs between cohorts.
What pause does:
• Stops all platform charges from accruing (the 1% transaction fee + every metered chargeback line)
• Suspends scheduled jobs that act on your data (renewal reminders, daily sweeps, automation)
• Locks the UI to read-only — members can sign in and look, but not create or edit
• Preserves every record exactly as it stands the moment you pause
What pause does NOT do:
• It does not cancel external integrations (Stripe / Cloudflare / Gmail keep their own state)
• It does not free up your Turtini-issued domains — they stay reserved
• It does not delete data — paused orgs are kept indefinitely
To pause:
Settings → Billing → Subscription Status → Pause Organization. Confirm the inline expand prompt. The UI shifts to a calm "Paused" banner across the top with the date and a one-click Resume button.
To resume:
Anyone with billing rights on the org clicks Resume from the banner or from Settings → Billing. Charges resume the day you resume; there's no make-up billing for the paused interval.
Pause vs cancel:
• Pause = "we're coming back, just not now" — instant resume, no data lifecycle countdown
• Cancel = "we're closing this org" — starts the 30-day grace, then the 365-day recovery clock
If you're not sure, pause first — you can always cancel later.
