Turn on a module that needs a license
Some modules run activity a government licenses -- gaming, banking, lending. You can read everything about them, and nobody can switch one on from the directory. It unlocks after you put the license on file and a Turtini reviewer verifies it with the agency that issued it.
**Filing one**
1. Open **Module Licenses** (/licenses). You need to be an owner or admin of the organization.
2. Each module lists the licenses it requires and what holding one permits. Some are issued separately in every state or for every tribe you operate in; the page says which.
3. Choose **File this license** and fill in the number exactly as it appears on the certificate, the name it is issued to, the jurisdiction, and the expiry date.
4. Attach the certificate itself. This is not optional. A typed number is not something anybody can check, and checking it is the whole point.
**What happens next**
A Turtini reviewer who is not you contacts the issuing agency, confirms the license, and records which agency they contacted and what reference they checked. Only then is the module unlocked for your organization.
That takes as long as the agency takes. Most regulators publish no list a computer can read -- that is the normal case, not a problem with your filing -- so a person does the work.
**Why somebody else has to check it**
Because one person approving their own filing is not a check. The reviewer is always a different person from whoever submitted it, and the record keeps both names.
**If a filing is not accepted**
You will see why on /licenses, and you can file again. Nothing you already hold is taken away.
**Keeping it current**
/licenses shows the expiry date you filed. A license that lapses is not something Turtini can renew for you, so file the new certificate when you renew.
