Setting up a self-service kiosk — the kiosk access token
A self-service kiosk — a device with no staff signed in — needs a kiosk access token to look up and enroll loyalty members. You generate the token once, then configure each kiosk device with it. Staff working a register while signed in to Turtini do not need a token. You will find the Kiosk access token panel in your Retail or Restaurant settings, under the Kiosk section.
Setting up a kiosk:
1. Generate the token. An admin clicks "Generate token". The token is shown once, in a highlighted box — copy it right then, because it will not be shown again. Use the Copy button.
2. Configure the device. On the kiosk itself, click "Use on this device" to save the token to that device; a green dot then confirms "This device is configured for self-service." To set up a different device from a token you generated elsewhere, paste the token into "Configure this device with an existing token" and Save.
3. Set the idle timeout and screensaver. In the same Kiosk section you can set how many seconds of inactivity before the screensaver appears, and manage the rotating screensaver images.
Rotating and removing:
After a token exists, the button becomes "Rotate token". Rotating issues a new token and invalidates the previous one — any kiosk still using the old token stops working until you reconfigure it with the new one, so rotate when you are ready to update your devices. To take a device out of kiosk use, click Remove to clear the token from that device.
