Connecting bank accounts via Plaid
Plaid lets your bank push every transaction directly into Turtini Accounting so reconciliation is a one-click match against the GL. We support every major US bank Plaid covers — Chase, Wells Fargo, BoA, Capital One, Citi, regional banks, credit unions, and most online-first banks.
Connecting a bank:
1. Settings → Integrations → Plaid (or Accounting → Banking tab — same flow, same result)
2. Click "Connect a bank"
3. Plaid Link opens — search for your bank, sign in with your bank credentials inside Plaid's secure modal (Turtini never sees the credentials), pick which accounts to share, approve.
4. Each selected account appears as a card with the bank logo, last balance, and last sync time.
What syncs:
• Last 90 days of transactions on first connect
• Daily incremental pulls from then on (Plaid pushes the diff, we don't poll the bank)
• Posted transactions, pending transactions, balance updates
What doesn't sync (yet):
• Transfers between two of your own connected accounts dedupe automatically; you don't get two GL entries
• Refunds + chargebacks come through with their own description so you can categorize them differently than the original sale
Manual sync:
Each item card has a "Sync now" button that fetches anything Plaid has published since the last pull. Useful right after a large deposit you want to reconcile immediately.
Disconnecting:
Click "Disconnect" on the item card — revokes Turtini's access at Plaid, deletes the access token, and stops new transactions from flowing in. Existing GL entries stay in your books. Reconnect later and the next sync only fills the gap from when you unlinked.
Cost:
Plaid charges per active item per month; that pass-through cost is metered into your Turtini usage at a 15% margin (same as every external service we route on your behalf). The Banking tab and your Usage page show the running cost.
