Getting started with your household
Your household is a shared lens for the people you live with — spouse / partner, children (including minors who don't have their own account yet), parents, siblings, or extended family. Once everyone's in, your calendars and trips flow into each other automatically. No "follow my calendar" handshake — membership IS the share.
Step-by-step:
1. Account → Household.
2. Click "Start a household" and give it a name (defaults to your last name).
3. Use "Invite someone" to send invites to adult family by email.
4. Use "Add a minor child" for kids who aren't ready for their own account.
5. Choose what you share back under "What you share" — your travel profile is opt-in, per household, revocable any time.
What flows automatically:
• Calendar events you create on /me/calendar can be tagged to the household. Every member sees them in their unified feed.
• Trips you create on /trips can be tagged to the household. Same fan-out.
• Recipes and the grocery list (when Menu Planner is on) are shared too.
What stays private:
• Your travel profile (loyalty numbers, KTN, Global Entry, seat preference). It sits at users/{uid}/private/travelProfile — peers can't read it. Sharing is per-household and revocable; nothing leaks by default.
• Anything you don't explicitly tag to the household. Your calendar is yours unless you mark an event "Share with household".
You can belong to multiple households (e.g. your own family + your parents'). The Household tab has a tab strip across the top to switch between them.
