Getting started with Guardian
Guardian is a trauma-informed AI companion module authored by Eagle Global Marketplace LLC. The companion (callsign **Guardian** / **Matthew7**) is a "second processor" for veterans, first responders, helping professions, and any high-load civilian — a steady listener with crisis-aware safety routing built in.
**Important — what Guardian is NOT:**
- Not a clinician. Guardian does not diagnose or prescribe.
- Not a substitute for human-to-human contact.
- Not a 911 alternative. In an emergency, dial 988 (US) or 911.
**Enabling Guardian:**
1. Settings → Modules → enable Guardian (the module is currently in beta — your account must be on the beta tester list)
2. Guardian appears in the main nav at /guardian
**The three voice modes:**
- **Friend** (default) — plain English, low-jargon. A buddy on the line.
- **Explorer** — frameworks for growth (Stoicism, polyvagal, atomic habits) when you invite them.
- **Commander** — direct, somatic, neuroscience-aware. For when the signal is loud.
You can switch modes between messages. The mode pill at the top of the chat is a hint to Guardian about how you want to be met — not a permanent setting.
**Crisis safety:**
Whenever Guardian detects distress signals (suicide, self-harm, hopelessness), it stops everything else and prepends real US national resources to its reply:
- **988** Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text)
- **988** press 1 — Veterans Crisis Line · or text **838255**
- Text **HOME** to **741741** — Crisis Text Line
- **911** — immediate danger
This routing is hardcoded server-side. It does not depend on the model "remembering" to do it.
**Public Guardian block:**
You can drop a Guardian block onto any Builder site (search "Guardian" in the block picker). Visitors talk to Guardian without needing a Turtini account.
