Grant programs — eligibility, deadlines, application forms

A grant program is the offer side: how much you'll fund, who's eligible, when applications close, and what questions you ask.

Creating a program:
1. Grants → Programs → + New program
2. Title, description, total funding pool
3. Eligibility criteria (501(c)(3) status, geographic restrictions, mission alignment, anything else applicable)
4. Award size — fixed (every awardee gets $X) or variable (range with cap)
5. Application window — fixed-deadline (closes on a date) or rolling (always open)
6. Application form — defaults to a 501(c)(3) standard form; customise per program
7. Visibility — public (listed on your portal block) or private (link-only access)
8. Save

Default form fields (you can add or remove):
• Organisation name, EIN, 501(c)(3) status
• Project name and narrative
• Funding requested + budget breakdown
• Timeline and outcomes
• Past funding from your org (if returning applicant)
• References

Letter of Intent (LOI) gate:
For competitive programs, enable a 1-page LOI as a first step. Only invited LOIs proceed to the full application — saves both sides time on programs that get hundreds of applications.

Templates:
Once you've refined a program, you can publish it as a template other orgs can install. Common for fiscal-sponsor relationships and consortium funders.
