Gift cards — issuance + redemption

Gift Cards lets your org issue branded gift cards customers can redeem against your products, services, restaurant menu, or retail catalog. Cards have a numeric balance (or a tier-based entitlement) and an optional expiration.

To issue a gift card:
1. /giftcards → + New gift card → set load amount, recipient email (optional), expiration (optional), purchase reference
2. Card receives a unique code (printed barcode + QR for in-store, code for online)
3. Card balance is tracked in real time; recipients can view balance via the public lookup at /gc/:code

Redemption:
- POS / Retail / Restaurant — operators key in the card code or scan the QR; the system debits the balance
- Online — customer enters card code at checkout; reduces order total
- Apple Wallet / Google Wallet — if your org has wallet passes enabled, gift cards can issue as wallet passes (re-balanced live)

Accounting:
Card issuance posts as a liability (DR Cash / CR Deferred revenue). Each redemption transfers from liability to revenue. The /giftcards dashboard shows outstanding liability total + breakage forecast.
