Live projector leaderboard
The projector leaderboard is the room-facing display — typically projected on a wall or driven to a TV at the front of the ballroom. Path: /auction/:slug/board.
What it shows:
• Total raised so far (huge headline number, animated counters)
• Top items by current bid
• Hottest items (most bids in the last 5 minutes — drives competitive bidding)
• Recent bids ticker — "Paddle 142 just bid $1,200 on Mexico Getaway"
• Fund-a-need progress (matched-gift bar)
Use cases:
• Mid-cocktail-hour: show the dashboard to anchor the room around what's at stake
• During live auction: keep silent auction visible so guests don't get distracted
• Final 10 minutes: switch the layout to "closing" mode — countdown timers per item
Setup:
Drive a TV or projector with a small PC or Mac mini, point a browser at /auction/:slug/board, full-screen the tab. The page is read-only — no input, no nav — designed to live on a remote machine you don't touch all night.
Multiple boards:
Run more than one (e.g. one in the silent auction area, one in the main room, one in the lobby) — they all read the same live state.
