Items — silent, live, fund-a-need, raffle
Items are the things you're auctioning. Each item belongs to one of four categories:
• Silent — bid via the public mobile page until silent close. Highest bid wins.
• Live — auctioneer-driven from the front of the room. Bids enter through the runner staff or directly from the auctioneer's tablet.
• Fund-a-need — tiered pledge (e.g. $5,000, $2,500, $1,000, $500). Multiple winners per tier.
• Raffle — random drawing among ticket buyers.
Per item:
• Title, description, photos
• Donor / donor org (with letter of donation upload)
• Fair Market Value (FMV) — required for IRS-compliant tax receipts (paid above FMV is the deductible portion)
• Starting bid (silent / live)
• Reserve (silent only) — minimum the item must hit or it doesn't sell
• Buy-it-now (silent only) — instant-purchase price ends the bidding
• Bid increment (silent only) — typically 5–10% of starting bid
QR code:
Every item gets a QR code linking to its bidding page. Print on table cards so guests scan and bid right from their phones.
Sold / unsold:
At silent close, items above reserve are marked Sold and routed to the bidder's folio. Items below reserve become Unsold and Wally suggests next-year strategies (lower starting bid, package with similar items, demote from live to silent).
