Getting started with Gala

Gala is the silent + live auction OS for nonprofit fundraising events — items, paddles, public mobile bidding page, live projector leaderboard, fund-a-need pledges, sponsor wall, IRS-compliant tax receipts, and accounting auto-post all on one stage.

Enabling Gala:
1. Settings → Modules → enable Gala
2. Gala appears in the main nav at /gala

The seven tabs:
• Dashboard — live event metrics (totals raised, bid count, top items)
• Bidders — registered paddles with name, email, phone, pre-auth
• Items — auction items (silent / live / fund-a-need / raffle)
• Pledges — fund-a-need pledges ($1,000-tier, $500-tier, etc.)
• Sponsors — tier-aware sponsor wall + table assignments
• Tables — table seating manager
• Tickets — gala admission tickets

Public surfaces:
• /auction/:slug — public mobile bidding page (passenger phones)
• /auction/:slug/board — projector leaderboard for the room
• /auction/:slug/checkin — kiosk check-in flow

Wally helps:
• Predicts items unlikely to sell (call them out for live-auction add-on or starting-bid drop)
• Drafts thank-you letters from each bidder's activity
• Drafts IRS-compliant tax receipts with FMV-vs-paid quid-pro-quo split
