News in Find: what just happened

The News tab answers "what just happened" rather than "what is on the web about this." It is a separate tab because those are different questions: the Web tab ranks the whole web by how well it matches your words, which is the right answer for a recipe and the wrong one for a fire last night.

What you get:
• Stories from the past week, newest first, each with its source and how long ago it was published.
• A photo with the story where the publisher provides one.
• Stories marked as breaking are labeled.

Things worth knowing:
• News is fetched when you open the tab, not with every search. If you search and never open News, nothing is fetched.
• A news answer is kept for ten minutes, where ordinary web results are kept for an hour. Something that happened this morning should not be answered with an hour-old "nothing found."
• Results come back in your language and for your country, taken from the language you set Turtini to and the region your browser reports. A search in French about a French place returns French coverage.
• These are third-party news results from the open web. Turtini does not write, host, rank or edit them, and a story appearing here is not a Turtini endorsement of it.

If a tab is empty, that is the honest answer for those words rather than a failure — try fewer words, or the place or person's name on its own.
