Audience voting and virtual screenings

Audience Voting

Audience voting lets pass holders and registered attendees vote for their favorite films across audience award categories.

How voting works:
• Voting opens and closes based on your festival schedule
• Eligible voters (pass holders or registered attendees) see the Voting tab in Events
• Each voter can cast one vote per award category
• Votes are anonymous — only the live tally is visible to admins

Admin tally:
• Events → Voting → Live Tally (admins only)
• See real-time vote counts per film per award category
• Export results when voting closes

Virtual Screenings

Films can be streamed as virtual screening events with DRM protection and optional geoblocking.

Setting up a virtual screening:
1. Create an event and toggle "Screening" on
2. Link a film from your catalog
3. Add a streaming URL (your CDN or streaming provider)
4. Enable DRM if using a protected stream
5. Add geoblocked regions (ISO country codes) to restrict access by territory
6. Toggle captions and audio description availability

Virtual screenings appear in the Films detail page alongside in-person screenings. Access is gated to ticket or pass holders — unauthorized visitors see a purchase prompt instead of the player.
