Filmmaker submissions

The Submissions tab lets filmmakers apply to your festival and gives admins a review queue.

How filmmakers submit:
• Submissions open when toggled on in Events → Settings → Film Festival
• Filmmakers submit via your public festival page — title, director, runtime, synopsis, genre, country, screener link, and applicable deadline tier
• Submission fees (if any) are charged at submission via Stripe

Submission statuses:
• Pending — just received, not yet reviewed
• Under Review — a team member is evaluating
• Approved — accepted into the festival; film is auto-added to the catalog
• Waitlisted — conditionally held pending other decisions
• Rejected — not selected; filmmaker is notified
• Selected — accepted and scheduled

Reviewing submissions (admins):
1. Events → Submissions
2. Filter by status, category, or deadline tier
3. Click a submission to open the detail view — screener link, director info, and submission notes
4. Update the status and add internal reviewer notes

When a submission is approved, a film record is automatically created in the Films catalog with the submitted details. The filmmaker receives an email notification for all status changes.
